Who is Hello Kitty?

Although Hello Kitty appears to be a cat…. she lives her life as a normal everyday little girl

Hello Kitty was created in Japan but when designed, her nationality was British.

This was done because Japanese people were (and still somewhat are) obsessed with foreign countries.

The creators at the time wanted Hello Kitty to be unique, so not only was she made British, but her given name was Kitty White!

Kitty lives in London together with her parents George and Mary and her twin sister Mimmy

An interesting and little known fact is, Hello Kitty has a pet called Charmmy Kitty.

Social communication is important thus the creators chose to use the word ‘hello’ even though they were considering calling her ‘hi kitty’ initially!
